Guided by knowledge. Grounded in tradition.
LUMEN ∞ CORE is being developed with input from scholars who have spent years and decades studying Islamic law, spirituality, and ethics. Their role is to ensure that technology serves worship rather than reshaping it.
What scholars help us safeguard.
Scholars contribute in several key areas:
- Clarifying boundaries around what should—and should not—be measured or surfaced.
- Ensuring that language used in the app encourages sincerity, humility, and balance.
- Reviewing how features might affect intention, comparison, and spiritual health.
- Advising on how to accommodate diverse juristic views with clarity and respect.
Keeping the purpose clear.
The presence of scholars is not symbolic. It is central to how we evaluate every meaningful change—especially around data, AI, social features, and research. They help us ask: does this truly serve the worshipper, or does it risk misplacing the focus?
A global, evolving council.
As LUMEN ∞ CORE grows, the aim is to formalize a council that reflects the diversity of the ummah—geographically, culturally, and in areas of expertise. That includes:
- Scholars of law and jurisprudence.
- Scholars of spirituality and character.
- Experts in mental health, spiritual psychology, and habit science.
- Researchers focusing on technology ethics and data stewardship.
This is a living structure that will deepen as the project matures.
How guidance appears on screen.
One of the most important contributions scholars make is helping shape how insight is phrased:
- Focusing on encouragement over comparison.
- Avoiding framing that might subtly shift intention.
- Keeping reminders rooted in mercy, not pressure.
- Highlighting the inner meanings behind outward habits.
Sharing who is involved.
As formal advisory structures are put in place, LUMEN ∞ CORE plans to publish clear information about participating scholars, their areas of expertise, and the domains they help review—so users know how the experience is being shaped and safeguarded.
Receive updates as the council grows.
If you would like to know when formal scholar advisory structures are announced, or when new guidance resources are published, join the waitlist and we will share updates as they become available.
